A federal judge in San Francisco struck down the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act yesterday, ruling that the law jeopardizes other legal forms of abortion and threatens the health of women who end their pregnancies.

This is the first of the three court challenges to the "Partion Birth Abortion" Ban to be decided, the other two are still pending. This decision prevents enforcement of the law at any of Planned Parenthood's clinics nationwide, or any instance in which a Planned Parenthood physician performs the procedure elsewhere.
