pictures as promised. these are the lovelies now on sale at the teeny art center in my hometown.

I'm trying to finish an additional three ornaments in gold tones and send them off by early next week, as the woman running the art center seemed to think the more people had to choose from, the more likely some would sell. We'll see. I'm not getting my hopes too high for this.
later musings:

later musings:
- the ornament in the middle is perhaps my favorite ever. I almost refused to part with it. Then again, I can always make more.
- the school colors in my hometown are blue and white. Hence the abundance of that color scheme.
- aren't the little tags adorable? my mom helped me make them. I should scan one and post it for you, they're so cute.
- the glass under the beads on the middle ornament is really a different color than the other two. it is not an optical illusion.

alternatively titled: reason #112 why I gladly fork over lots of money to kxci every year
This morning, I remembered halfway out the door that I needed to return some call sheets to the Grijalva campaign office. Swearing, because now I was going to be late, and I had tons of stuff on my schedule today, I grabbed them and got in the car. As soon I got on the road, I switched the radio station to KXCI (which my dear hubby almost never lets me listen to when he is in the car). Mere seconds after that, I recognized the voice of William Shatner "singing," covering Pulp's magnificent "Common People." I nearly had a fit. It was so perfect, so appropriate, so surreal. I couldn't commit to either laughing hysterically or to screaming the words along with him, so I did a mix of both. Had I thought to bring my wallet with me, I might have driven straight past the campaign office to the nearest music store and bought the CD, which is soon to be at the top of my wishlist. Frelling brilliant. And if you don't think so, a pox on you.
They then followed the song with something lovely by Sarah Harmer. Ah, but I loves me my Music Mix.

I am way too ambitious. I just signed myself up to sponsor a Write-a-thon for Amnesty International at my home, and pledged 250 letters. I am a crazy person.
But the event sounds just fabulous. Please go and check it out if you haven't already heard about it. And if you're in the Tucson area, please mark it on your calendar and come over to my house!
